Custom Slant Markers in Hudson, WI & the Twin Cities

A “slant” is the industry term for a headstone that is slanted on one side. They are similar to upright headstones and are designed to reach a maximum height of under 2 feet. Slant memorials offer many creative options for telling your loved one’s story, though they do tend to have limitations on design and lettering due to their smaller surface area.

At Midwest Memorials in Hudson, WI, we design custom slant markers, single and companion, for families across the Twin Cities and Western Wisconsin.

  • For individual slant memorials, the most common and standard size is 24” L x 10” W x 16”H but can be made larger or smaller.

For companion slant memorials, the most common and standard size is 36” L x 10” W x 16” H. Companion memorials can range in size more broadly than individual memorials and lend themselves to creative use of the burial space.

  • Slant memorials are often more economical than upright memorials as they do not require a base; slants are most commonly comprised of a slant mounted directly to a foundation. Slant markers start around $2,100.

  • An upright stands tall on a base and gives the most room for lettering and artwork. A slant sits lower with an angled face — a cleaner, more understated look that's still easy to read standing up. Many cemeteries that restrict upright height still allow slants.

  • Many cemeteries that don't allow tall uprights do allow slant markers, but each has its own size and foundation rules. We confirm your cemetery's regulations before designing, so your marker is approved and installed without delays.
